This is a heads up for some important updates to Advanced Ads scheduled for tomorrow. If you maintain a site with Advanced Ads and add-ons, then please read this email carefully.
Some advanced feature combinations didn't work well together. E.g., Sliders or automatically refreshing ads in a sticky or PopUp position or running media.net and DoubleClick ads in a Custom Position placement.
The upcoming updates of Advanced Ads, Advanced Ads Pro, Tracking, Sticky and Layer provide this compatibility, hence it is important to update all add-ons (if used) at the same time and check if ads still appear on the expected position.
I am going to release the updates tomorrow. If you don't find the time for a quick check then please don't update, yet.
What do I need to look for?
If sticky and layer ads don't center correctly, please open the "advanced options" in the placement and set the width and height.
We didn't find any possible issue with ads in a Custom Position placement, but please check those as well.
In some cases, there was an ad wrapper created when Advanced Ads itself didn't need it. The wrapper class could have been used to write custom CSS. If you have done that (you would know if you did), then please check your adjustments and maybe set an ID or class in the ad settings to target that position.
Our next release cycle is going to contain fixes for the advertisement label. If you find an issue with that then please wait until that release.
Updates for PopUp Add-On not working
The PopUp & Layer add-on does not update through the WordPress admin in the current version. Please download and install the new version from your account when you see the other updates and this will be fixed in the future as well.
Latest Slider version
The current version of the Slider add-on is 1.3.2. Since this add-on does not have automatic updates at all, you need to download it manually from here.
As always, please let me know if you discover any issues or simply have a question.
