Slider add-on updated

View this email in your browser
The Slider add-on for Advanced Ads was updated a few days ago. Whether you are using it already or intend to do, you might be interested in these major changes.
  • support for mobile touch
  • adjust more options
  • stable layout integration
The plugin does not update automatically. Please follow the update instructions below to receive the latest version.

Mobile touch support

Due to an update of the unterlying slider script, all sliders now support mobile touch automatically. This means that you can scroll to the next ad with your finger on a touch screen.

This makes the plugin even more useful for cases where you don't want to display only ads, but also other kinds of content as a slider.

If the swipe-support causes you troubles, you can disable it using the information here.

Adjust options

Some users asked me whether it would be possible to adjust slider options like the animation type or the transition speed. This is possible now using a filter. You can find more information about this here.

Stable layout integration

Some themes were not compatible with the original slider layout and when I fixed issues for some people, it caused problems for others. The developer of the slider script now added some basic css settings which seem more stable to me, so I integrated them into the plugin as well.

Please check if your layout works or needs some adjustments and let me know what you did to fix it.

Update instructions

Since the Slider add-on does not come with a license key, the update is not happening automatically.

If you purchased the plugin or the Pro Bundle, you can just log in to your account and get the latest version from there.

You can also use this link to download the latest version and replace it with the code on your site through the WordPress plugin panel or FTP.

Thanks

The Affiliate Program for Advanced Ads

View this email in your browser
I am surprised how many of you ask me if there is an affiliate program for Advanced Ads, because you want to share it with others – and earn a commission for purchases in the add-on shop. Yes, there is one.

Join the affiliate program

After joining the affiliate program you get a link to the website that you can use when referring users to Advanced Ads. Here are some channels some partners already use to get the word out:

* tweet about it
* share on Facebook
* write an article on your blog (tutorials perform very good)
* send an email to friends, colleagues, and clients

The affiliate program is paying a 20% commission on sales – lifetime. This means that you get paid not only for the initial purchase of an add-on, but also each time the license is renewed or extended.

If you have a well performing affiliate channel then don't hesitate to reply to this email for a custom deal.

If you are happy then I would like to catch you in this mood and kindly ask for a 5-star review on wordpress.org.

As you can see there, I also reply to any message on wordpress.org, but please, if you have a question or need support then don't use the rating, but directly post a support ticket or reply to this email.

Another ad network suggestion

View this email in your browser
A few days ago, I sent you information about Sulvo. If you have more than 500.000 monthly impressions and use ad networks on your site you might really want to give them a try.

If you have less than 500.000 impressions or would like to test something new, then the following ad network might be worth a test.

Late in 2015, after testing even more networks, Sekindo approached me with an interesting and well paid ad format.

They offer normal display ad formats like Medium Rectangle, but with video content.

At first I was sceptical, because I didn't have the best experience with the user-friendliness of videos, especially when they start automatically.

However, Sekindo delivers them mute, which means that no one is confused.

After testing them – and still running them too – I also found that the video content is quite good. I haven't seen spammy content or questionable offers so far.

Check out Sekindo

The income performance was ok on that position where I used them. It wasn't a position that draw much attention and so was less performing with AdSense. Sekindo definitely outperformed that.

The code is also easy to integrate and split test with Advanced Ads groups.

What I also liked was the personal support. There were some issues with the tags on HTTPS-sites, which we were able to solve together.

There are a couple of other ad formats too, so I would really suggest that you check out Sekindo – in case you use ad networks at all.

As always: if you don't find this to be a valuable hint or have issues with the integration that are related to Advanced Ads then please don't hesitate to reply to this email and let me know.
