The Lord of Taiga: Russia’s Far East Celebrates Amur Tiger Day

The city of Vladivostok in Russia’s Far East marks every fourth September by celebrating Tiger Day. This holiday has been celebrated in the Primorsky Territory since 1999. The Amur tiger is among the most endangered tiger subspecies, the most northern tiger and the largest cat species, even bigger than a lion.
